Bornhorst + Ward is looking for an experienced Civil Drafter to join our growing Brisbane Civil team. If you're passionate about producing quality documentation, enjoy solving technical challenges and want to work on a diverse range of projects, we'd love to hear from you.

Working alongside our engineers and designers, you'll prepare detailed civil drawings and construction documentation that support practical, compliant and buildable outcomes. You'll also play an important leadership role within the team by providing guidance and mentoring to our junior drafters, helping to develop their technical skills while fostering a collaborative and high-performing drafting environment.

The successful applicants will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in civil works including some but not all of the following:

  • Subdivisions

  • Property Development

  • Bulk earthworks

  • Roadways

  • Carparks and Hardstand areas

  • Commercial developments

  • Commercial / Retail Projects (desired but not essential)

  • Underground infrastructure services including stormwater, sewer and water reticulations.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications

  • Systems proficiency - Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD + Revit.

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Understanding of design principals

  • 12D experience (highly regarded)

  • Ability to mentor the junior drafting team

All candidates must demonstrate an ability to work with and manage a design team, liaise with clients and local authorities and provide mentor assistance to junior staff.
