 Graduate Program

Beginning your career at Bornhorst+Ward will open doors to the engineering consultancy world. Graduate Engineers will have the opportunity to make a unique contribution to projects which shape the city we live in. Graduate Engineers are given responsibility across a broad range of projects within a supportive environment. An experienced mentor is assigned to each Graduate and thorough guidance is applied throughout the first few years of employment.

Graduate positions are often filled by students who have completed our undergraduate program but we are always open to young professionals with a passion to excel in the field of engineering.

Undergraduate Program

Our undergraduate program runs for two months over summer. This is a paid program which contributes to core competencies and is open to civil engineering students in their penultimate year.

Completing our undergraduate program means gaining one on one mentoring and real world engineering experience in either civil or structural design.

As an Undergraduate at Bornhorst + Ward you will have the opportunity to apply skills acquired throughout your studies with the support of experienced engineers.

Current Positions Available

 

Role: Senior Civil Designer (12D Experience Essential)

Full Time Position

Role Commencing: March 2021

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in civil works including:

  • Subdivisions
  • Property Development
  • Commercial / Retail Projects (desired but not essential)
  • Bulk earthworks
  • Roadways
  • Carparks and Hardstand areas
  • Commercial developments
  • Underground infrastructure services including stormwater, sewer and water reticulations.

Applicants must demonstrate a proficiency in:

  • 12D modelling (Essential)
  • Autocad
  • Microsoft office
  • Have strong verbal and written communication
  • Understanding of design principals
  • Understanding of civil construction practices.

All candidates must demonstrate an ability to work with and manage a design team, liaise with clients and local authorities and provide mentor assistance to junior staff. The candidate must also demonstrate a strong engineering background.
